Re-thinking Mobile Marketing
This week I attended a great webinar by Google’s Avinash Kaushik(@avinash) on mobile marketing and advertising strategies. Avinash is a funny guy and really knows his stuff. One of the takeaways from the webinar was “integrate mobile strategy” in every aspect of your online marketing strategy. According to Microsoft, half of all local searches are done through mobile phones, which means businesses need to adapt and optimize their web sites for mobile platforms today.

Great article on the Dark Side of Google+ by Fast Company. The article highlights the fact that there is a “Circle Fatigue,” which happens when you have too many circles and have to categories every single relationship on Google+.
What is Google+
Interesting interview of two guys behind Google+, Vic Gundotra and Bradley Horowitz by TechCrunch TV. According to these top Googlers, Google+ is a key platform to turn Google from “search” into “social” company and will be a major driver of Google’s future products.
Clicky: Real-time Web Analytics
I use Google Analytics a lot for web traffic analytics and reporting, however, it is missing one big feature which is real-time web analytics. All the reports you see on Google Analytics are for yesterday’s traffic. Many ecommerce, news and other transactional web sites want to monitor real-time traffic to see reports on how many people are on the site every hour and trying to see what the users are looking at right now, which page is viewed most in the past hour and much more. I came across Clicky.com which offers real-time web analytics that can be accessed on any mobile platform. Also, Clicky plays nice with many open-source web applications such as Joomla, WordPress and Magento, which is great.
